For two months library working life has been greatly preoccupied --yea, impacted-- with preparations toward launching the library into the realm of RFID. Great heaving waves of book handling have dominated days & weeks. Even the practice of emailing, qua social media, has been greatly diminished. Meetings have been convened impromptu, where often discussions might have been electronic.
To set the wealth of that preparatory activity at a distance & shyly go forth into the very differently aspected realm of engagement & involvement in producing a succinct web journal appears strangely circumspect, slow & self reflective, by contrast. To acquaint myself through practised engagement with many facets of the new social media, & the internet technologies underpinning them, will be very different from attending training sessions & conferences touching thereon.
Hello kasandre. You're right - actually trying out all these things is quite different to hearing about them in presentations and lectures. I've only just noticed your blog - I stopped checking the 23 things home pages for new blogs very frequently a little while ago. But now I've found you, I've added you to the master RSS feed of Cam 23 blogs, which is at http://www.google.com/reader/bundle/user%2F06868313924869516916%2Fbundle%2F23%20Things%20Cambridge
